The area encompassing the central Balkan Mountains is a crossroad for many tourist routes leading to Bulgaria's major natural and cultural attractions, including the towns of Teteven, Ribaritza, Shipkovo, Apriltsi and so on. This region features a number of monasteries, cobbled-stoned streets, ancient houses and museum villages which still remind the ones of the Bulgarian National Revival Period. This tour has a guide and is vehicle supported, but self-guided option is also possible upon request.

Itinerary:
Day 1. Sofia - Chekotinski Monastery - Golyam Izvor
Transfer from Sofia to the village Osikovska Lukavitsa - 80 km. Cycling to Chekotinski Monastery (10 km) .After visiting the monastery we continue cycling along the Maluk Iskar valley to the village of Vidrare and Golyam Izvor where we stay overnight.
Cycling distance: 35 km.
Day 2. Golyam Izvor - Teteven - Ribaritsa
Cycling through the village of Golyam Izvor (ca. 7 km) until we reach the pass offering stunning views over the Cherni Vit valley and the town of Teteven. After short break in the Teteven center we continue our cycling to the village of Rinaritsa for overnight.
Cycling distance: 35 km. Possible extension via Glozene Monastery (+15 km)
Day 3. Ribaritsa - Bogoya Pass - Shipkovo
After a strenuous ascent we reach Bogoya Pass (1100 m.) which is the border between Teteven and Troyan Balkan range. We pass Shipkovo spa village where we can stop for a lunch break and after another 7 km we descend to Chiflik at the foot of Central Balkan National Park. After a relaxing bath in one of the hot mineral water pools (the spring water has station temperature of 35C) we head back to Sofia (3 hours drive).
