Few places in the world combine the vibrant energy of a cosmopolitan city with untamed wilderness as impressively as Brazil. This journey brings together two completely different worlds that reveal the country's true character. The itinerary begins in Rio de Janeiro, a city that has become a symbol of the Brazilian spirit with its spectacular coastline, remarkable natural landmarks, and unmistakable atmosphere. Gradually, the urban landscape gives way to the vast wilderness of the Pantanal, where life follows the rhythm of the rivers, the changing seasons, and the extraordinary wildlife.
Day 1. Arrival in Campo Grande
Upon arrival in Campo Grande, we will be met and transferred to our hotel. Often referred to as the "City of the Macaws", Campo Grande is famous for the large population of blue-and-yellow macaws that can frequently be seen flying freely above its parks and wide tree-lined avenues - an unusual sight for a major Brazilian city. With its spacious boulevards and abundant green spaces, the city offers the perfect opportunity to relax before the adventure into Brazil's remarkable wilderness begins. Campo Grande is also known for its proximity to the Pantanal, the world's largest tropical wetland, covering approximately 180,000 km², nearly 80% of which lies within Brazil. Recognized by UNESCO as both a World Heritage Site and a Biosphere Reserve, the Pantanal is celebrated for its extraordinary biodiversity. Among its most remarkable inhabitants is the jaguar, whose population density here is considered one of the highest in the world, making the region one of the best places on Earth to observe this magnificent predator in its natural habitat. The early morning hours provide the best conditions for spotting these remarkable species.
