Itinerary:

Day 1. Arrival
Arrival in Sofia. Tranfer to Balkan Jewel Resort. On our way we visit Rila Monastery (this is according to your arrival and departure time, if more comfortable we may do it on the last day of your trip before your departure. Overnight in Balkan Jewel.

Day 2. Dancing Bears Park, Belitsa
A short transfer to Belitsa, 12 km from Belitsa there is the Dancing Bears Park, where we will spend half a day. In the past in Bulgaria there were “mechkari”, people who were gaining money by making a bear to “dance”. In 1998 this cruel entertainment was officially prohibited in Bulgaria. 2 years later a park was settled in Belitsa and now over 20 of the animals live freely in an environment that is natural and suited to their species. It provides the former dancing bears with closest to the nature living environment: dense forests and hills for walk, digging and privacy, meadows and specially designed sunny places for rest, large pools for swimming and dens for hibernation. Overnight in Balkan Jewel.

Day 3. Trekking in the Pirin Mountains
In the morning we have a transfer to Gotse Deltchev Hut, which is just above the town of Dobrinishte. From Gotse Deltchev we take the chairlift to Bezbog Hut (2236 m.a.s.l.), situated in a beautiful area next to the Bezbog Peak and the Bezbog Lake just in front of the Hut. This is already part of the Pririn National Park, which is uder UNESCO. From this point we start our daily walk. Our goal is to get to Popovo Lake, beautifully situated among the rocky peaks of Pirin. The route may be changed on spot depending on participants’ wishes and abilities. Overnight in Balkan Jewel

Day 4. Horse Riding in Pirin
The plan of the day is to do some horse riding. After breakfast a short transfer leads you to Perivola Riding Centre for half a day excursion. 3 hours of trail ride for the whole family. The riding plan is flexible and it will change on spot according to the riding experience of the participants. Overnight in Balkan Jewel.

Day 5. Free day
This is your free day when you could have the programme on your own. There is the option to do some cycling in the area, to do some more trekking in the Pirin National Park or have a trip for SPA in the nearby village Banya, famous with its mineral water. Short transfers by car or a mini-van could be arranged to Razlog/Bansko/Pirin golf for free during the daytime, or you could rent bikes. Overnight in Balkan Jewel.
