Carpathian Mountains Self Guided Trek,Transylvania (Romania)

Carpathian Mountains Self Guided Trek,Transylvania (Romania) 870 , 8 Days

Explore four mountains in 7 days in the magnificent Carpathian Mountains range. Trek through narrow, saw-like ridges and discover the beautiful glaciers, canyons, and lakes in Romania's national parks.

Highlights:
Piatra Craiului mountains and National park - with its narrow and saw-like ridge the mountains are considered to be one of the most beautiful in Carpathian Mountains range.
Bucegi Natural Park is Romania's best-kept secret, rivalling Slovakia's Tatra Mountains and the Alps when it comes to trekking. Their many glaciers, canyons, caves and lakes offer a wealth of natural beauty, history and adventure.
Brasov is everything that Bucharest is not: a placid, gentle, civilised city of 300,000 people nestled in the Carpathian mountains. At present the 2-nd industrial centre after Bucharest and one of the main university, historic and tourist cities in Romania. Places of interest include remnants of a citadel built in 1553, The Black Church (14-th - l5-th centuries), the largest Gothic church in Romania and within the territory between Vienna and Istanbul.
Bran castle is no doubt one of the milestones when travelling in Transylvania. Towers, narrow corridors, hidden premises - the castle offers many interesting facts and stories, mysterious enough to incite the legend lovers.

Most of you, who are used to walking/cycling during a long weekend, will be in condition to cope with a tour of this level. You should be in a good health condition. We have successive days of longer and more difficult walking and days of lighter walking/cycling. Some parts of the day routes are done at a higher altitude. The paths are in good condition. We walk/cycle for 5/7h a day.

These tours include trekking which is a little harder, normally on a challenging terrain. We take it for granted that you are in good condition and fit. You should be physically prepared at home to get the maximum of the tour. Most of the trekking is done at a greater height (max 3000m).
