Atlantic Islands Explorer – Sao Tome, Principe and Ilheu das Rolas

Itinerary:

Day 1. Sao Tome - Principe
Arrival at São Tomé International Airport (TMS) to catch the afternoon flight at 3 pm. to Principe. The Flight takes about 40 min. Transfer to our hotel for overnight.

Day 2. Principe - Praia Bom Bom
Praia Bom Bom (30 min drive from Principe), on the north coast of Príncipe Island, is a stunning, palm fringed private beach that backs onto the exclusive Bom Bom Island Resort - a laid back, eco luxury retreat tucked between two golden bays. It was the first African hotel to receive the Biosphere Responsible Tourism certification.
Beach access is open to both resort guests and external visitors. Drive back to our hotel in Principe for overnight.

Day 3. Principe - Praia Banana
With its crescent-shaped golden sand and crystalline turquoise waters, Praia Banana makes for an unforgettable view - so striking that it featured in a famous Bacardi commercial. The beach is accessible by 4x4 and the trip from Principe takes about 50 min. Back to Principe in the afternoon, time to explore the city.

Day 4. Principe - Sao Tome
Transfer to the airport to catch the morning flight to Sao Tome. We stay at Emoyeny Garden Hotel or similar.

Day 5. Sao Tome - Porto Alegre - Ilhéu das Rolas
After breakfast we head to the south of island, making few stops enjoying the different views of Pico Cão Grande in Ribeira Peixe. Arriving Porto Alegre, we will take the boat to Rolas island, is volcanically formed with lush vegetation and endemic species. Guided walk through the forest to the Equator monument. Back to Sao Tome for overnight.

Day 6. Sao Tome
Free day to explore Fortaleza de São Sebastião, now the São Sebastião Museum, and stroll through the vibrant Mercado Central. Or we can choose to relax on the beautiful sand beaches Praia Lagarto or Praia das Conchas.

Day 7. Departure
Transfer to Sao Tome international airport for departure.
