The walking routes chosen for this tour pass through some of the most spectacular parts of the Rhodope mountains - Trigrad Gorge, the Devil’s Throat Cave, Yagodina Cave and Chairski Lakes.The trails offers breathtaking views over high rocky cliffs, thick forests, alpine meadows and remote mountain villages where you can observe Bulgaria at its best, untainted by the influence of western society. The green 225km long mountain ridge of Rhodope Mountains is situated in southern Bulgaria. Its highest peak is around 2,000m and average height is around 800 m. With its pleasant climate, the mountain is the perfect place for hiking, offering walkers a rolling landscape with pre-historic caves, ancient Roman roads and bridges and medieval fortresses and churches.

Most of you, who are used to walking/cycling during a long weekend, will be in condition to cope with a tour of this level. You should be in a good health condition. We have successive days of longer and more difficult walking and days of lighter walking/cycling. Some parts of the day routes are done at a higher altitude. The paths are in good condition. We walk/cycle for 5/7h a day.
