Self-Guided Austrian Lake Trekking in Salzkammergut

Self-Guided Austrian Lake Trekking in Salzkammergut 649 , 8 Days

This walk across Salzkammergut - one of Austria’s most beautiful regions - combines the breathtaking mountain scenery that Austria’s famous for with its unspoilt nature and lush greenery. On your way through the region from West to East, you will see ten of the beautiful lakes that make this region one of the top destinations for nature-lovers - Wolfgangsee, Mondsee, Irrse, Fuschlsee and 6 more. You will also have the chance to visit some of the other highlights of Salzkammergut: the “White Horse Inn” – the most photographed hotel in all of Austria, the Kaiservilla – Empress Sisi’s former summer residence, and Hallstatt, often referred to as “the most beautiful place on a lake”. Towards the end of the tour, a special excursion takes you to Ausseerland, where dramatic mountain tops hide away crystal-clear lakes, and bring you a sense of harmony that few other places possess.
