Corsica - From the Island's Heart to the Sea Coast

Corsica - From the Island's Heart to the Sea Coast 788 , 7 Days

A wonderful walking tour that offers you both mountain and coastal scenery featuring splendid contrasts. You will be walking through rugged mountains, scented pine tree forests, deep gorges and the exceptional western coastline. The route starts at the Scala di Santa Regina, an old mule path that leads into the central valley of Niolu. This is the real heart of the island. You walk through beautiful forests with tumbling mountain torrents and waterfalls, clear natural rock pools with sun-baked rocks. Once on the west coast you can enjoy small mountain villages, bright bougainvillea, lemon and olive groves.

♦ Corte - the island's histprical capital;
♦ Spelunca Gorge - with spectacular views around;
♦ Scala di Santa Regina - an ancient trail used by shepherds.

We recommend a flight by Air France

Most of you, who are used to walking/cycling during a long weekend, will be in condition to cope with a tour of this level. You should be in a good health condition. We have successive days of longer and more difficult walking and days of lighter walking/cycling. Some parts of the day routes are done at a higher altitude. The paths are in good condition. We walk/cycle for 5/7h a day.

These tours include trekking which is a little harder, normally on a challenging terrain. We take it for granted that you are in good condition and fit. You should be physically prepared at home to get the maximum of the tour. Most of the trekking is done at a greater height (max 3000m).
