This journey takes us to Gabon, often called “Africa’s Last Eden.” Covered by more than 80% rainforest, the country is home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife, including forest elephants, buffaloes, mandrills, and white-nosed monkeys. The national waters of Gabon are also home to leatherback sea turtles and humpback whales, which migrate here during their breeding and reproduction season.
But Gabon is more than wilderness. One of Africa’s wealthiest and best-organized nations, it combines untouched nature with modern infrastructure and political stability. Its coastal capital, Libreville, is a clean, modern, and pleasant city, perfect for relaxing between rainforest expeditions.
Beneath this modern face, Gabon remains deeply connected to ancient traditions. Sacred masks, Bwiti dances, and initiation ceremonies continue to preserve a rich spiritual and cultural heritage passed down through generations.
