Russia is known to be one of the best places for hunting the Northern Lights. The Arctic Circle crosses half of the country, and obviously, there is an endless stream of possibilities for catching this beautiful phenomenon.
The region of Murmansk on the Kola Peninsula is located in the far north-west of Russia, near Finland. With a population of 300,000, this is the world’s biggest city beyond the Arctic Circle, which makes it an outstanding location to hunt the Aurora Borealis.
Here in this sparsely populated region Russian Northern Lights can be seen from the end of August until April.
