After the split from Gondwana 160 million years ago, Madagascar has taken its own way of evolution. Existence in isolation has transformed the life on the 4th biggest island on the Earth into something unique and endemic. The itinerary route traces picturesque landscapes, enters remarkable national parks, stops at lovely towns and villages and gradually uncovers the face of Madagascar’s soul – its nature. The island is not seized by the “greedy” hands of the massive tourism and offers to small groups of tourists tranquillity, authentic experience and unspoiled beauty.

Tour highlights:

♦ Ranomafana National Park - it is the flagship conservation project for Madagascar. It is mountains covered by tropical forest, famous for its wide variety of orchids
♦ Isalo National Park - protects 81,540 hectares of wildly eroded Jurassic sandstone massif
♦ Andasibe National Park - home of the Indri lemur


Itinerary:
Day 1. Antananarivo (Tana)
Arriving at Ivato Airport and transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Day 2. Tana - Andasibe
After breakfast we head east of Tana. Visit of Pereyras Reptile Reserve for observing a great variety of geckos, lizards and chameleons. We continue to Andasibe, where we will overnight. Optional night tour to spot the nocturnal lemurs, known as the smalles in the world. B/-/-

Day 3. Andasibe
Morning expedition to encounter the INDRI - the world’s biggest lemurs with its almost invisible tail; we will also see other species of lemurs such as the brown lemur, bamboo lemur, wooly lemur and other animals such as chameleons, etc. Visit of the private reserve of Vakona in the afternoon to watch lemurs from very close. This is the best place to see them and you can even feed them with bananas or stroke them. B/-/-

Day 4. Andasibe - Antsirabe
Breakfast and departure for the town of Antsirabe. Antsirabe, which means a place of much salt, is famous for its thermal pools with good healing properties. The town attracts many locals and tourists due to its cool climate and location. Antsirabe is also the capital of rickshaws, and THB, the local beer. Be sure to enjoy the taste of a true Malagasy beer whilst here. B/-/-

Day 5. Antsirabe - Ranomafana
In the morning depart for the town of Ranomafana. It is an area with hot mineral springs and notable natural reserve - sheltering numerous endemic species. En route planned stops at Ambositra - the capital of traditional woodcarving, where we will visit a local artisan market. Arrival in Ranomafana in the afternoon and accommodation at the hotel. B/-/-

Day 6. Ranomafana
Guided exploration of Ranomafana National park. Colourful birds and lemurs are teeming among the trees of the primary rain forest. These include the most notable two species: the golden bamboo lemur and the greater bamboo lemur. B/-/-

Day 7. Ranomafana - Ranohira - Isalo National Park
Today we continue оur trip  we passing through the capital of the Betsileo Tribe, Fianarantsoa, which means place of good learning. The Betsileo Tribe is well known for being invincible! We then continue to Ambalavao, where we visit a local workshop. We will stop at ANJA Park, which is a sanctuary of ring- tailed lemurs and this reserve was created by the local village to protect the fauna in Madagascar. It's a perfect opportunity to come close to the lemurs, take some great photos and witness how local people can make a positive impact on protecting the environment. After lunch we continue our trip to Isalo where we stay for the night .B/-/-

Day 8. Isalo National Park
Today we continue  to Tulear, passing throught the region of cotton. We will have the chance to se the traditional tombs of the Mahafaly and the painted tombs of the Bara and the Antandroy tribes. B/-/-

Day 9. Isalo - Tulear
We will head directly to Tulear - the capital of South Madagascar. This trip will take about 6 hours. We will stop at the Arboretum of Antsokay to visit this private arboretum reserve. We will have lunch there, and then continue to lfaty, where we will enjoy some relaxing hours on the beach. B/-/-

Day 10-11. Ifaty 
Free time in Ifaty. Optional snorkelling and other activities. B/-/-

Day 12. Departure

Transfer to the airport in Tulear and flight to Tana.

Visa: All European Union citizens can obtain their visa upon arrival at Ivato Airport (65 Euro). There is no need for photographs. NOTE: All visa information is subject to change and sometimes the information has not come to our knowledge.

Vaccinations: No special vaccinations are needed (or are obligatory) but we recommend that you make a vaccination against yellow fever as well as take malaria pills with you. If you have any doubts it is always better to check with your personal doctor well in advance.
