After 30 min. drive from Sofia center we reach the village of Vladaya (850 m) at the foot of Vitosha Mountain. The biking trail follows a dirt road along Vladaya river ascending to Zlatnite mostove( Golden Bridges ) at 1390 m.
From here after another steep ascent of about 1000 m we come to a flat single track for the next 12 km easy ride. Then after a gentle descent we enter the village of Kladnica (1150 m) and continue dlong a dirt road crossing meadows and coniferous forests down to Studenica dam.
After short break we head downhill to Rudartsi (900 m) where we can stop for a break enjoying its hot mineral water pool. Our ride continues to Marchaevo (900 m) before joining the Canala trail, part of the “Round Vitosha Loop” from where the last 3 km descent takes us back to Vladaya.
Biking distance: 39 km (app. 5 hours), uphill/downhill : 450m/600m. Intermediate-advanced.
