1-day horse riding in Teteven Balkan

Teteven Balkan – one of the most beautiful parts of the Balkan Mountains – is situated very close to Sofia, it takes only an hour drive. Hidden forest paths lead to high ridges with spacious views – up there, where it’s easy to take a deep breath and where the eyes cannot get enough. But the pleasure is even greater when you enjoy this lovely nature riding on a horse back!

Itinerary:

Golyam Izvor – Glozhen Monastery – Golyam Izvor
We arrive at the village of Golyam Izvor. We meet the horses and get brief instructions. We saddle the horses and head along forest paths to the Ridge of Lisets Mountain, from where a splendid panorama view to Teteven Balkan is revealed. Riding through a century-old beech forest we approach Glozhen Monastery. Its impressive silhouette perched on an inaccessible rock is one of the most impressive sights in Bulgaria. After a short walk inside we return to Golyam Izvor. Drive back to Sofia.

1-day horse riding in the Rodopi Mountains

Itinerary:

Galabovo (Plovdiv region) –Kuklen Monastery - Galabovo
Arrival to Galabovo. We will walk for about 10 minutes from the village to the starting point of our horse riding tour. We meet the horses and some brief instructions follow. The beginning of the route is via meadows and oak trees. On our way we will stop by a small chapel to enjoy a wonderful view to the Thracian valley with Plovdiv, Assenovgrad and Kuklen in front. Then we will have the opportunity to trot and gallop. Thus we will reach Kuklen Monastery, which we will explore before heading back to Galabovo following another route.
Riding: 4-5 hours

1-day horse riding in Sredna Gora

One of best places for horse riding is to be found around the town of Hissar - in the very center of Bulgaria, equally close for all horse riding lovers. Nice side roads, on which galloping is like a flight, and the ending – as you can imagine – is in any of the numerous mineral swimming pools in the town.

Highlights:
Hissar – an ancient town with many Roman ruins – including a several km fortress wall, encircling the modern center. The place is well known for its 22 healing mineral springs. Nowadays Hisarya is a famous SPA center.

Itinerary:

Hissar
We meet our horses in the riding base Hissar. After some brief instructions we start riding in the outskirts of Hissar along meadows, fields, vineyards and oak trees, following various routes – either to the village of Starosel or to the mountains.
