The Ice Hotel is located in the Mountain Fagaras, close to the biggest city Sibiu.
Every year local craftsmen from the area of Balea Lake /2000 m a.s.l. / built The Ice hotel. Each ice block is four feet and comes from the Lake. The hotel has 12 cozy rooms with ice carved beds, soft mattress and blankets, which are made of deer fur. The breakfast is served on an ice tables and ice plates. Of course the main courses are cold dishes.
For your convenience the architects built an Ice Church close to the hotel where you could celebrate your Gold or Diamond wedding. Also you can spent Christmas or Easter in those transparent walls.
The only way to catch the place is by Cable Car. It starts from Balea waterfall /1200 m a.s.l./. The nearest Airport is in the Saxon near to town Sibiu - 90 km from Balea Lake.
For daily activities you could enjoy of winter sports activities such as snow - mobile, ice skating, ice sculpturing or snow -shoeing.
