Nessebar is one of the oldest towns in Europe, revered for its monuments from antiquity, its fascinating architecture which dates from the Middle Ages and the National Revival Period. The town is situated on a small rocky peninsula in the northern part of the bay of Bourgas. The beach of Nesebar is 4 km, or 2.4 miles, long. The old quarter, situated on Nessebar Peninsula and linked to the mainland by a narrow stretch of land, is an official UNESCO heritage listed architectural and archaeological reserve. North and south of the peninsula you will find beaches with the finest sand along the Black Sea coast. To the north, these beaches join with those of Sunny Beach.
